Banks often use animation because it allows them to explain complex processes quickly and easily. For Rabobank, we developed a unique series of 14 sequential animations, guiding their employees through the step-by-step implementation process of their TCS BaNCS system. Each month, a new episode of approximately 1 to 2 minutes, featuring the fictional character Tip, highlighted a different aspect of the new system. These episodes were published on the bank's intranet. Initially Rabobank ordered 4 explainer videos. But since the animations were so well viewed and appreciated, we ultimately created 14 videos. Various spin-offs followed.
"When it comes to internal communication tools, we still too often think of just a message on the intranet, a notice on a notice board or an email to all employees. But among the hundreds of messages that some of us receive every day, such a message often has little priority. And it doesn't really stand out if it only contains plain text. It may be very informative, but the content still doesn't reach its goal. Simply because it isn't read. And that's a shame! Instead of long texts, we therefore use these types of clear, informative animations. By using animation, we were able to easily give our internal communication tools a good and effective upgrade."
